Kampong Cham to Built a New Independence Monument

Kampong Cham: The provincial officials of Kampong Cham province have planned to construct a new Independence Monument. It will be built in front of the Regional Teacher Training School and the Provincial Vocational School next to the Om River.

A ceremony was conducted on Monday led by its provincial governor Un Chanda marking the start of a new project. The governor says that the construction of the Independence Monument is to commemorate the highest merits of His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk, His Majesty the King, who sacrificed his body and wisdom for the cause of national independence, territorial integrity, peace and social development as well as remembrance of the veterans of the armed forces of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in all generations.

He has added that the construction of the Independence Monument is also for the purpose of cultural and cultural heritage of the province, making the city beautiful to attract more national and international tourists to visit and also to participate in the clean city race movement.

The new Independence Monument will be constructed at the old National Road 7 in Village 6, Sangkat Veal Vong, Kampong Cham City. The construction immediately started on Monday. It will be completed before the 69th Anniversary of the ninth National Independence Day and the ninth birthday of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on 9 November 2022 and will be inaugurated.
